Offshore action!
9-6-2025
James McDaniels
25 anglers, overnight offshore charter: 11 Yellowfin Tuna, 12 Yellowtail, 1 Bluefin Tuna, 1 Dorado. Good sign of fish offshore, they don’t seem to be in full bore bite mode yet. Could be the moon, could be the fact that they are just showing up. Either way, we are excited to see them around. For now we’ll be running to the Coronado Islands as that’s been a little more consistent but we are definitely keeping tabs on the offshore scene.
Spots available daily!
Tackle recommendation:
30lb flyline rod, a 40-50lb yo-yo rod and a jig stick. Remember to have fresh line on your reels and a pocket full of 1/0- 2/0 hooks. 6 oz torpedo sinkers and several yo-yo jigs like Salas 6x jr or equivalent. We also recommend having some circle hooks and fluorocarbon with the Bluefin around as well. In addition, please come prepared to fish with small bait. 25lb test and a size 4 or 2 hook.
Full day Coronado Islands trips will be departing seven days a week. Departures are at 5:30 AM, check-in begins at 4:45 AM. Passports are required. Bunks are available and free of charge, please provide your own bedding if needed. No fuel surcharge.
Our trips include Mexican Visa’s but do not include fishing licenses. If you have an annual Mexican permit please bring it and you will not be required to purchase any additional licenses.
